CARLOS LUIS “Pajita” GaRcia Bes

ARTIST STATEMENT

Pajita Garcia Bes is one of the pioneers in the study and dissemination of tapestry and textile art.

He was one of the emergent figures of the international interest in Latin American cultures of the sixties, making important exhibitions in Paris and other European cities in the early seventies.

This shift revisited the modernist canon through the inclusion of non-Western imagery.
